Petrel highly commended winners at The Electrical Industry Awards
The Electrical Industry Awards organised by Electrical Times Magazine took place in October. As expected, it was a fantastic evening, the awards recognised the efforts and innovations of many companies within the Electrical industry.

Flood lighting Highly Commended – lighting product of the year
Petrel’s new range of Area Flood lighting solutions are industry leading in terms of their light output performance and specification. The product range features luminaire efficacy of up to 156lm per watt. This product is an industrial luminaire designed to meet the stringent parameters of the Atex Directive making it suitable for areas with potentially explosive atmospheres. The product is virtually maintenance free and has been designed as a fit and forget product offering longevity of service.
UK base car manufacturing Highly Commended Lighting Project of the Year
The ongoing benefits of LED lighting in terms of cost of ownership and overall performance were critical factors taken in to consideration when the UK’s largest manufacturer of automobiles proposed to upgrade the lighting system in their paint shop and paint mix areas.
They now enjoy vastly improved levels of light with a higher CRI as well as significant energy savings of over 45% compared to the previous installation. In addition to this, maintenance costs have been vastly reduced as a result of using Petrel 7 series LED products which have industry leading performance in terms of product life with the driver units and LED arrays rated at 50,000 hours life.
There was some very strong competition in both categories, and we are delighted that Petrel was Highly Commended by Electrical Industry Awards.
