Commercial Update – Traditional lighting Technology
As part of its wider commitment to tackle climate change, the UK government recently announced its intentions to phase out traditional lighting solutions such as mercury and fluorescent lamps. With this in mind, the shift towards more energy efficient LED lighting solutions will be accelerated over the coming months.
Whilst this represents a positive and forward-thinking commitment, the impact of this decision both in the UK and global markets, is driving change throughout the entire supply chain for traditional lighting components. As a manufacturer of a broad range of traditional products we are increasingly faced with substantial price increases and difficulties in sourcing parts.
This impact of such additional costs has now reached the point where we have to inform you that with effect from 1st January 2022, we will apply a surcharge of 10% to all new orders received for our traditional lighting products.
Petrel has a full range of high performing LED lighting solutions and in order to help manage the transition, we will provide specific support and guidance for any customers who wish to consider a switch to LED, including energy saving consultations and Lighting design services.
